CALL FOR HeArts

March 27, 2020 - Be ready to respond to the call for HeArts!

 

  • Anybody (adults, K-12 students) who loves drawing/coloring, writing, singing, moving, dancing and acting is invited to participate in the HeArts for Hope Global Community initiative.  
  • This phase will consist of responding to a call to draw HeArts designs using the Doodling method of drawing (Please click here to upload information about the doodling process). 
  •  “Through the Doodling/Zentangle Method of drawing, you can: relax, focus, expand your imagination, trust your creativity, increase your awareness, respond confidently to the unexpected, discover the fun and healing in creative expression, enter a vibrant and supportive world-wide community, feel gratitude and appreciation for this beautiful world and all that you can do, and perhaps most importantly . . . have fun!”- - www.Zentangle.com 
  • Your HeArt can be designed in black-and-white or using colors and words. You are encouraged to insert a personal message featuring a positive intention, which can be literal or abstract. 
  • The overall design can be poetic, humorous, inspiring, or thought provoking, but must always be respectful.
  • The Call for HeArts will be send through emails, websites and Social Media platforms (BePeaceBeHope, HeArtsforHope ArtsforAll.

Important message

Each week, at the end of every phase, we will send out your creations of love & hope to show our encouragement and support to our isolated elders, hospitalized patients, first responders, medical teams and military, and others especially in need of hope and encouragement during this time. We invite you to contact us if you would like to be a recipient, or know of someone who you would like to nominate.

Phase 1 - HeArts Design Creation

March 27 onwards: Be ready to respond to the call for drawing/doodling

  •  On March 27th, anybody who loves drawing/coloring is invited to enter the 1st phase of the HeArts for Hope Global Community initiative. 
  • You are invited to draw a HeArt design using the Doodling method of drawing (For inspiration, please click here to upload information about the doodling process).  We invite you to share where the HeArt positively takes you, what it tells about your humanity, your relationships, your values, your qualities, your dreams, your hopes, your future, how it connects you with others and invite you to support others in need. 
  • Once you have finalized your design, please take a picture of your design.
  • Then submit your HeArt design image as a jpeg (ideally 300 dpi) along with a title, your name, and a 1-sentence statement about what you hope to gain from this experience (Ex: My name is Kalya and I hope to support others and be connected with others across the country) to our HeArts for Hope, Arts for ALL Community Facebook page or to our bepeacebehope@gmail.com email address. 
  • Selected HeArts will be featured on our BePeaceBeHope.com and HeArts for Hope, Arts for All galleries

Phase 2 - Call to write from the HeArt

April 4 onwards: Be ready to respond to the call for writing

  •  On April 4th,  anybody who loves writing is invited to enter the 2nd phase of the HeArts for Hope Global Community initiative by associating a text/poem that will respond to the HEART design that they have selected.  
  • Please pick the HeArt design of your choice by browsing the "HeArts to select" gallery (Click Here) 
  • Next, we invite you to write a poem/text/haiku that will respond to the selected HeArt design. HeArt designs are labeled with a #
  • You are invited to write about how the HeArt positively inspires you, what it tells about your humanity, your relationships, your values, your qualities, your dreams, your future; how it connects you with others and invites you to support others in need. how you are going to use this current crisis to make a positive change in your life, relationships, future, etc.
  • Each message or poem or haiku should not be more than 150 words. The message or poem or haiku can be poetic, humorous, inspiring, thought provoking but always has to be respectful and have an obvious connection with the HeArt design selected.
  • You are invited to submit your message/poem/haiku along with 1- a title, 2- your name, 3- the HeArt#, and 4- a 1-sentence statement about what you hope to gain from this experience (Ex: My name is Kalya and I hope to support others and be connected with others across the country) to our HeArts for Hope, Arts for ALL Community Facebook page or to our bepeacebehope@gmail.com email address. 
  • Selected messages will be featured on our BePeaceBeHope.com and HeArts for Hope, ARTS for ALL galleries any time after April 10th.

Phase 3 - Call to create a musical composition/song

April 11onwards: Be ready to respond to the call for music

  •  On April 11th,  anybody who loves music is invited to enter the 3rd phase  of the  HeArts for Hope Global Community initiative by associating a music/song that will respond to the HeArt design + poem/message that they have selected. 
  • You will pick the design of your choice by browsing the HeArt + Message gallery (Click Here)  
  • Once you have picked your HEART, record a  musical composition/song to share where the HeArt positively takes you, what it tells about your humanity, your relationships, your values, your qualities, your dreams, your hopes, your future, how it connects you with others and invites you to support others.
  • Each recording should not be more than 2:30”. The musical composition/song can be poetic, humorous, inspiring, thought provoking but always has to be respectful and have an obvious connection with the HeArt design + message/poem selected.
  •  You are invited to submit your music/song along with 1- a title, 2- your name, 3- the HeArt design and text#, and 4- a 1-sentence statement about what you hope to gain from this experience (Ex: My name is Kalya and I hope to support others and be connected with others across the country)  to our HeArts for Hope, Arts for ALL Community Facebook page or to our bepeacebehope@gmail.com email address. 
  • Selected music/songs will be featured on our BePeaceBeHope.com and HeArts for Hope, ARTS for ALL galleries any time after April 17th. 

Phase 4 - Create a movement/dance/skit from the HeArt

April 18 onwards: Be ready to respond to the call for a Movement/Dance/Skit

  • On April 18th you are invited to enter the 4th phase of the HeArts for Hope Global Community initiative by creating a video of movement/dance/skit that will respond to the HeArt design+poem/message+music/song that you have selected 
  • You are invited to pick the combination of HeArt design/message/music of your choice by browsing the HeArt+Text+Music gallery (click here).
  • Once you have picked your HeArt combination, create a Movement/Dance/Skit to share how the HeArt positively inspires you, what it tells about your humanity, your relationships, your values, your qualities, your dreams, your hopes, your future; how it connects you with others and invites you to support others.
  • Each recording should not be more than 1:30”. The movement/dance/skit can be poetic, humorous, inspiring, thought provoking but always has to be respectful and have an obvious connection with the HeArt design + message/poem + music/song selected.
  •  You are invited to submit your music/song along with 1- a title, 2- your name, 3- the HeArt Design/Message/Music recording#, and 4- a 1-sentence statement about what you hope to gain from this experience (Ex: My name is Kalya and I hope to support others and be connected with others across the country)  to our HeArts for Hope, Arts for ALL Community Facebook page or to our bepeacebehope@gmail.com email address. 
  • Selected movement/dance/skit video will be featured on our BePeaceBeHope.com and HeArts for Hope, ARTS for ALL galleries any time after April 18th. 

Ongoing Phase 5 -Delivery of the HeArts Gift Packets

Starting on April 5th, the gift of Love, Creativity, Peace and Hope

  

  • During this fifth phase, each HeArt for Hope Gift Pack (including the HeArt design + poem/writing + music/song + movement/dance/skit Click here) created from the HeArt will be sent in a special email/facebook message with a special surprise by our BTPBTH/TFAA team to show our encouragement and support to:  
  • isolated elders
  • first responders
  • medical teams 
  • hopsitalized patients
  • military
  • and others especially in need of hope and encouragement during this time.
  • We invite you to contact us if you would like to be a recipient, or know of someone who you would like to nominate. 


  • These HeArts for Hope gift packages will be offered to our students when they return to school.
  • We will do our best to relay responses from HeArts for Hope Gift Pack recipients to their creators.

We are planning to organize an exhibition in the Fall to feature some of the most heartwarming stories.
